Operations/Yardperson - NSW

Reporting to the Branch Manager – NSW, the Operations/Yardperson position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the operational activities in the yard and fleet, as well as providing assistance as required for all operational aspects of the business, including loading, unloading and deployment of our unique range of road safety barriers, VMS, light towers and traffic products. This position is full time, and requires the occasional night shift in order to support the business and its clients.

We are seeking applicants with a high level of self-motivation, work ethic and initiative, the ability to prioritise quality and safety, a high level of attention to detail, as well as a professional manner and communication. The ideal applicant will have familiarity with the roads and/or infrastructure industries. 

 

Key Focus

  • Maintain high work standards and ensure the organization and maintenance of product being dispatched and returned to/from the branch
  • Work effectively and diligently within a team
  • Ensure the yard is maintained in an optimum and safe condition to increase operational efficiencies and safety
  • Work effectively with all sub-contractors and freight companies to unload/load product, ensuring all safety protocols are always adhered to whilst maintaining critical relationships
  • Seek opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, safety, order, and stock locations

 

Skills and Experience Required

·       Forklift License
·       Industry Card (white/red card)
·       Knowledge of appropriate loading, stacking and yarding protocols
·       Knowledge of the road safety industry/civil construction market and relevant regulatory requirements, including WH&S
·       Competent level of computer literacy
·       Professional and well presented
·       Ability to work under pressure
·       Dedication to customer support and service
·       Willingness to take on growth opportunities within the business model
·       Ability to work autonomously
·       Passionate, energetic, and committed to achieving organisation's goals 

The ideal applicant will have familiarity with the roads and/or infrastructure industries. Applicants with the following will be highly regarded: medium rigid truck license, dogging license, electrical spotters ticket, and traffic management experience.
